RAWALPINDI, (Parliament Times); The training was organised by the Incharge Emergency Response Unit Dr. Aamir Saleem in collaboration with Rescue 1122 with an aim to train University’s staff to handle serious and emergency situations while proper medical response is still on the way. PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman was the chief guest while all the focal persons of different faculties, institutes and directorates were participated in the training. Mr. Mubeen ul Rasheed (Master Trainer from Rescue 1122) provided hands on training. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman said that emergency response training must be declared mandatory for the faculty, staff and students to manage emergency situation. It is essential for everyone in Pakistan so that the precious life of the masses can be saved, he added. He thanked the rescue 1122 team and appreciated the efforts of organizers. He hoped that such training should also be organized in future as well. The participants were imparted critical skills like placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position, first aid, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stopping bleeding and elevation bandaging injuries and preventing the worsening of the patient’s condition and promoting recovery. Apart from this, emergency kits were also installed by Arid Varsity Emergency Response Unit at various locations of the University to provide immediate first aid in case of any emergency situation.
