Islamabad, (Parliament Times): The team of Daily Destination won the Kashmir Media Cricket Cup organized under the auspices of Kashmir Media Sports Committee on the occasion of the foundation day of Azad Kashmir.Imran Khan lovers and Bilawal Bhutto lovers challenge match was won by Bilawal Bhutto lovers. According to the details, the team of Daily Destination won the title by defeating the team of Daily Jannat Nazir in the final of the Kashmir Media Cricket Cup organized in collaboration with daily Stateviews and Daily Freedom Post under the auspices of Kashmir Media Sports Committee.Eight teams of Kashmiri newspapers participated in the tournament. In the first round, the quarter-final matches were played.The First match was between Daily Sada e Chinar and Kashmir Post, which was won by Sada e chinar.
The second match was between the teams of Kashmir Express and Jannat Nazir, which was won by Jannat Nazir’s team In the third match, the team of Kashmir Link defeated the team of Jammu and Kashmir. This match was decided in the super over.
In the fourth match, the team of Daily Destination defeated the team of Kashmir Times.The first round started on October 23, while the semi-final and final matches were played on October 24. In the first semi-final, the teams of Sada e chinar and Jannat Nazir were competing. Jannat Nazir’s team scored 88 runs while batting first. Jannat Nazir’s opener Sumair Butt scored the only half-century of the tournament and got out after scoring 52 runs.Chasing the target, Sada e Chinar’s team got out for 41 runs .In the second semi-final,The Destination defeated Kashmir Link. In the final match, The Destination and Jannat Nazir competed, which was won by the team of Destination,Naveed Saduzai was the top scorer in the final match.On the occasion of the foundation day there was also a challenge match between PPP team Bilawal Bhutto Lovers and Tehreek-e-Insaf team Imran Khan Lovers which was won by Bilawal Bhutto Lovers team.
The captain of Bilawal Bhutto Lovers was former chairman of PSF and prominent leader Sardar Shakoor Siddique.While Imran Khan Lovers was led PRO of former Prime Minister of AJK Sardar Majid Sharif’.Fahad Rathore of Bilawal Bhutto Lovers stood out by scoring 23 runs. Sardar Imtiaz Shaheen Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir for Development Projects, was the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony of the tournament
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, he said that providing entertainment opportunities to Islamabad-based Kashmiri journalists who are always busy in their professional affairs is a very positive activity.Shahzad Rathore and Raja Shahzad Khan have organized this tournament and brought journalists to the playing field.
Chief guest of the final match was PTI’s central leader Nadeem Qasmi.
While addressing the prize distribution ceremony, he said that on the occasion of Kashmir Day, conducting a cricket match between teams of journalists is a healthy activity.Kashmir Media Sports Committee officials Shehzad Ahmed Rathore, Raja Shehzad Gulzar and their team deserve congratulations who have organized this beautiful event and organized a cricket match between two major political parties. He said such competitions should be held regularly so that the political temperature can be reduced in Azad Kashmir and political harmony can be promoted.
PTI leader Nadeem Qasmi announced Rs 150,000 for the tournament committee, Rs 30,000 for the winner team and Rs 20,000 for the runner-up team.
Sardar Naveed Saduzai was awarded the best batsman of the tournament and the man of the match award for the final match while Sumair Butt of Jannat Nazir was awarded for scoring a fifty in a match.Fahad Rathore of Bilawal Bhutto Lovers was given Man of the Match Award for PPP, PTI Challenge Match.Winner team captain Mudassar Chaudhry and Nisar Tabasim received the winner trophy from Nadeem Qasmi and Jannat Nazir captain Raja Imran received the trophy from Bashir Usmani.
Editor Kashmir Link Khawaja Mateen gave the trophy to the winning team captain of the political challenge match Shakoor Siddique while Editor Sada e Chinar Ejaz Abbasi gave the trophy to the runner up team captain Sardar Majid Sharif.
Renowned journalist Raja Basharat awarded Sameer Butt for scoring fifty.
Sardar Nadeem Siddique and Mudassar Chaudhry gave awards to Shahzad Rathore and Raja Shahzad Khan for organizing the best event.Raja Saqib Rathore and Ali Hasnain Naqvi were awarded for the best and interesting commentary in the match, while Mirza Adeel Jarral performed the duties of scorer during the tournament.
