Pakistan has been facing innumerable crises since its inception and its independence, like poverty, unemployment, terrorism, backwardness, and acute agricultural issues. However, the serious issue that has never been focused on is education. Education plays the very pivotal role in one’s growth and enlightenment but nobody is focusing on it there are a lot of problems in the education system of Pakistan. Firstly, we are following an outdated and poor content and curriculum which was used to be followed by our grandparents, as the poor curriculum is a recipe for disaster because the curriculum acts as a tool to achieve the educational goals of a nation. Unfortunately, in our case, it’s updated as per the demands of changing times. It does not meet the demands of the current age. Instead of encouraging deep powerful learning, critical thinking, etc. it promotes cramping and memorization. There is no learning by doing, we are just following an old traditional way of study. Secondly, Talented students are discouraged in our country either by teachers or by society. our education system doesn’t assess and evaluate real learning the decade-old system only assesses how much information students cram or memorize from our old books, and corruption which is known as the worst disease of a nation is the biggest tool to achieve high grades in our country, grades are sold in our boards, education is becoming a profitable business in Pakistan and A nation can’t be developed where education is a profitable business. Last but not the least, there is a lot of political interference in our education system. Instead of kicking ghost and unprofessional teachers out, they are supporting them, even some teachers are working at two places instead of government employees restrained from holding two jobs, who is supporting them? Who is responsible for these types of acts?To conclude, education plays an important role in the progress of the country. No nation can make progress without education, the government should focus more on the education system of Pakistan instead of their personal issues.
