Sharif Memon, chairman of the Bolton Market Traders Association, expressed these views in a meeting held in Bolton Market. He said that street crimes have increased rapidly, people are not coming to buy with a lot of money, due to which our businesses are stalling, unemployment is increasing rapidly, people are forced to starve, and the country’s economy is heading toward destruction. Because according to the calculation by which the businessmen of Karachi pay taxes, the value of the dollar in Pakistan should be 100 rupees. And we entrepreneurs should be exempted from taxes by the government. Sharif Memon said that Karachi is the city that feeds 70% of Pakistan and pays the highest taxes, and the provincial and federal governments do not have funds for Karachi. It is called a blow to the country’s economy, and the government should provide K-Electric with Iranian petrol. To reduce the price of electricity in our country, fuel adjustment can be eliminated. Thus, it will become cheaper because we have already made the dollar expensive by taking huge loans from the IMF and the World Bank and following strict conditions. The country is at its most dangerous point. Our SRB, FBR, and provincial and federal ministers have appealed to save us from further bankruptcy because the businessmen of Karachi have become bankrupt.
