Lahore : Eid Miladun Nabi was celebrated with religious zeal and fervor on in provincial capital amid tight security and surveillance. Moreover, cellular phone services also remained suspended for specific time duration in the selected areas of the city to avoid any untoward situation. Comprehensive security arrangements had been made by Lahore Police to ensure foolproof security of the processions and rallies.The central procession of Eid Miladun Nabi was taken out from the Railway Station and culminated at Rang Mahal after passing through Delhi Gate and Kashmiri Bazaar.Lahore police, in supervision of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar had devised a foolproof security plan to ensure the security of processions, rallies and religious congratulations. More than four thousand Police officers and personnel including Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, Anti Riot Force, Elite Force and lady police personnel were deployed for security purpose. Lahore Police in leadership of it’s Commander Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar brought out ‘Peace Carvan’ comprising DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, senior police officers and members of Central Executive District Peace committee. The Aman Carvan started from District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh and passed through different different areas of the city including shrine of famous Saint Hazrat Ali Hajveri Data Gunj Baksh, Railway station, Kashmiri and Dehli Gates and Jamia Ashrifia Ferozepur road. The CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar and members of the Peace Carvan met with the organizers, religious leaders and Ulma e Karam of the central processions and congregations of 12th Rabi ul Awal. The management of Jamia Ashrifia presented Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar with souvenir in recognition of his meritorious services for maintenance of peace in the city. Earlier, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar chaired a high-level meeting to review the security and traffic arrangements. He directed the police authorities to ensure foolproof security arrangements.
