ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : The Convocation 2022 of DPT Graduate Batches Fall 2014, Spring 2015, Fall 2015 of the Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) was held at Jinnah Auditorium, Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH) on 4thOctober 2022. Lt Gen Wasim Alamgir, HI (M), Vice Chancellor National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Maj Gen Nasir Dilawar Shah HI (M) (R), Rector FUI and Maj Gen Imran Fazal HI (M) (R), Director Foundation University School of Health Sciences, were also present on the occasion.
A total of 142 degrees were awarded out of which 108 degrees were awarded to the attendees and 34 in absentia. For academic excellence, three gold medals were awarded to first position holders, three silver medals were awarded to second position holders whereas three gold medals were awarded to the best graduates. Nine graduates were awarded certificates of Distinction for scoring 3.75 and above CGPA, while 20 were given Merit certificates for securing 3.50 to 3.74 CGPA.
Director Foundation University School of Health Sciences presented the annual report and highlighted the progress and academic excellence FUI has achieved in the past years. He congratulated the students and urged that as physiotherapists they must play their part in achieving the health vision of Pakistan.
The Chief Guest, Lt Gen Wasim Alamgir HI (M) Vice Chancellor NUMS in his address said that convocation is indeed one of the most memorable days in the life of a student and he extended his cordial greetings to graduating students of the ceremony. He further added that in a very short span of time, Foundation University College of Physical Therapy has set its bench mark for quality education and developed innovative solutions to train the sharpest minds. The chief guest said that the rising stars of Foundation University College of Physical Therapy are working abroad by acquiring merit-based scholarships, employment based immigration and international licensing to practice physical therapy around the world which is a matter of great honour for the University.
In the end, Rector FUI presented University plaque to the Chief Guest.
