The National Flood Response Coordination Centre declared 23 districts of the country worst-affected due to flood, including 8 in Sindh, 7 in Balochistan, 6 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 2 in Punjab.2 days ago. With 33 million people affected by the flooding, there are increased risks of waterborne diseases and disrupted access to healthcare. Thirty-three million people have been affected by the recent floods in Pakistan. Another effective tips to prevent floods in Pakistan is by increasing the amount of vegetation and trees in an area. It helps to absorb excess water and slows down the flow of runoff. In Pakistan, the government should increase the number of plants and trees around flood-prone areas to slow down flooding. To date, more than 1.14 million houses have been damaged and over 765,000 houses have been destroyed across the country, according to the National disaster.
