The United States of America can do whatever the hell she wants to do and it is official (Arundhati Roy). It was not until the breakout of the first world war that the United States casted its ambitions on becoming the world power. The chequered history of United States reveals the fact that its leaders persuaded the public to remain in isolation as they thought that the geographical location of the country protected by water from two sides and a weak neighborin the shape of Mexico and Canada an ally of America were potentially important both in terms of economic independence and guaranteed protection from any foreign aggression. It is an undisputed truth that the “German question”, which implies the industrialization of Germany by the iron chancellor Ottovan Bismarck actually prompted and caused the War of exhaustion (WW1) as it is often called due to the large scale destruction it caused throughout the world. This ultimately opened a new avenue for the United States to interfere and lock horns for hegemonizing the world. Thus began the voyage for a world supremacy and what followed is a long list of provocations by the champions of freedom, democracy, and human rights. America goes abroad not todestroy the monsters (John Quincy Adams: president of USA). Historical evidences suggests that president Adams successors contradicted him and proved him wrong. The arduous and chequered history of United States predominantly and deliberatelyprovoking other countries can be gauged from the historical fact that it invaded 84 United Nations recognized countries and has been militarily involved with 191 out of 193 countries in the wake of restoring Democracy and ousting the Authoritarian regimes which it alleged for having the weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Besides this the US had been involved in various operations of regime change in various countries. According to a newly published report, since its independence, from 1776-2019 America was involved in 400 military interventions, half of these interventions undertaken between 1950 and 2019. 25 percent of these military interventions were undertaken in the post cold war era. After having the Nazi Germany destroyed, the US Perceived herself as the sole Global power but the Stalin marshalled USSR stood eye to eye on the next door. The 20th century however, was under American hegemony. The 21st century according to renowned columnist and analyst F.S Ijazudin has seen an emergence of two quadrupeds _ the Russian bear and Chinese dragon that might bring it down to earth. American foreign policy is designed and fabricated through the prism of its ideological adversaries, i.e., Russia and China. The US had been making frequent and unnecessary strategic and diplomatic blunders in the past and the contemporary and prevalent situation also resembles the past. From the involvement in the wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan to the foolish decision of trade war of erstwhile president Donald Trump and from the Joe Biden’s ambition of increasing the NATO members by adding Ukraine, Finland, and Sweden to the deliberate and unneeded visit of Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan are all the examples of the miscalculated and callous designs of American foreign policy. It is pertinent to mention here that the war Analysts and critiques opined that president Putin was provoked by US when she ambitiously decided to add Ukraine into the NATO camp. This actually is the violation of the Warsaw pact which had restrained both Russia and USA from expansion. Astonishingly, the installation of Russian missiles in Cuba, which is also known as the Russian satellite had sparked so much resentment amongst the American camp that the Russia then USSR was compelled to pull out whilst the installation of American and NATO missiles at the doorstep of Putin’s Russia are deemed as tools of safeguarding the allied nations. Russia was provoked and annoyed and what followed is catastrophe and devastation. Economic growth of major European nations downgraded and food crisis still pose a serious threat to the Humans especially the Inhabitants of Global North (GN). Many Americans would argue today that America invaded and intervened in countries like Rwanda to rescue the citizens from being slaughtered at the hands of Hutu extremistsand that she intervened in Kosovo to prevent a potential genocide but most of them are unaware of the fact that the blood and treasure of Iraqis and Afghans that was shed in the wake of American invasion is irreparable and still haunts the national sentiments of these people. With every military intervention coming to an end, people speculate and become judgmental that a new lesson has been learnt but what follows is a repetition of the endless adventures of the USA. What is more alarming and menacing is the threat of war in the Indo pacific region. The US’s speaker of house of representative’s recent visit to Taiwan amidst strong Chinese apprehensions with China carrying out military operations and drills in the Taiwan strait is not pleasing to the eyes nor is it a promising sight for the world Peace. China’s claim of Taiwan as its integral part is cemented by the “Shanghai Communique”, which reiterated that Taiwan was part of China. President Richard Nixon had also stated that, “there is one China and Taiwan is part of that China “. Despite such declarations, the US is busy in provoking one of the giants of the world. The repercussions of war in the Indo pacific region will be dire because this region provides China with economic growth and strategic importance. China will not compromise on its sovereignty and national integrity to be violated. She will retaliate in the strongest way possible because, “China is like a sleeping dragon. Let China sleep, for when she wakes up, she will shake the world”.
