ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : Spokesperson of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Touseef Abbasi has said that just as the people of Pakistan actively helped Kashmiris in the earthquake of October 8, 2005, the Government of Azad Kashmir will fully stand with the flood victims throughout Pakistan in this hour of difficulty and will leave no stone unturned. According to the special instructions of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, relief goods, including food items, dry ration were sent on trucks to the flood victims of Balochistan. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister’s Spokesperson Touseef Abbasi said that floods and rains have turned many areas including Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, South Punjab into piles of rubble, houses have collapsed, standing crops have been destroyed.
The victims have neither blankets nor food, the victims waiting for government help have become a picture of misery and helplessness. Infrastructure has been severely damaged and communication roads have been severely affected. Roads were washed away in many areas, leaving dozens of villages stranded and suffering from food shortages. There is a need to help the flood victims in every way and it is not only the responsibility of the government, rich people, private institutions and NGOs should also come forward in this regard. The Government of Azad Kashmir will use all resources for the flood victims and will leave no stone unturned to help the victims.
Similarly, in Azad Kashmir’s Neelam district, the drains flooded due to rains, which affected the population on a large scale. The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir has instructed the local administration to estimate the damages and prepare a report so that financial assistance can be provided to the victims.
Spokesman of Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Touseef Abbasi said that not allowing Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to offer Friday prayers today despite his long detention is a sad and shameful act. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister has strongly condemned it. Stopping the Hurriyat leader from offering Friday prayers today is a slap on India’s secularism and India’s democracy. United Nations and human rights organizations should take strict notice of this.
