Islamabad,  (Parliament Times) : The worst example of election rigging has come to light in Jinnah Garden, one of the biggest societies in Islamabad, in which Federal Investigation Agency ( FIA) played a partial role.

According to the details of the managing committee of Jinnah Garden Society, on Sunday, 21 August 2022, there were elections of the housing society in which the opposition party colluding with the FIA in view of their defeat made an arrest of the presidential candidate of Al-Badar Inqalab Group Khalid Mahmood, chief supporter Muhammad Siddiq, and the chairman of Al-Badar Inqalab Group, Mirza Muhammad Iqbal. The candidates were picked up by FIA from the election office without showing FIR and prior notice and took them into custody and locked them up, which caused a wave of anger among the members, residents and victims of Jinnah Garden.

Al-Badar Inqalab Group was an effective voice against housing society mafia and in view of its sure victory, the opposition group made arrest of its leadership through colluding with the FIA. These views were expressed by Advocate Nadeem Kayani, Zia Shahid, Rao Shakeel, Malik Akhlaq Awan, Raja Ejaz, Malik Inamul Haq, Chaudhry Ejaz and others while talking to the media.

They said FIA had not yet told in which case they had been arrested. They appealed to the Chief Justice of Islamabad, High Court to take notice of this action of FIA and expressed views that it was clear that this arrest was an attempt to stop Mirza Muhammad Iqbal and his group from participating in the election.
