On the directives of Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, Nila Butt Day is being observed this year with strong national aspirations. As Every year, 23rd August is celebrated with great enthusiasm as a national day.
Back in 1947, an important meeting of the Muslims of Kashmir was held under the chairmanship of Pir Syed Shamshad Hussain Shah, in which the focus of the meeting was the 22-year-old Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, who later got the title of Mujahid-e-Awal,He gave a passionate speech on this occasion.
He challenged the Dogras and said that the Dogras should implement the Islamic system in this State and join it with Pakistan, otherwise they will declare rebellion against it from today.
This historic speech of Abdul Qayyum Khan had a deep impact on the hearts of the audience and the spirit of religion and freedom was awakened in their hearts, and from here the Jihad of Freedom was started, and the uprising against the Kashmiri Muslims was raised in different parts of the state, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan and his comrades fought fiercely against the Dogras in the midst of apathy and liberated an area of ??32,000 square miles.
During this time, their passion was visible. Devotion will continue to be offered, as a result of their sacrifices, today we have got the opportunity to live our lives in free spaces. It is known that the complete independence of this State .And they will continue their struggle until its accession to Pakistan, the movement that started from Neelabat is also the guarantee of Pakistan’s stability.
The movement of freedom struggle that was started is still continuing today and will continue till its logical conclusion, President Muslim Conference Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan and his colleagues are undoubtedly continuing the mission of their predecessors.
Congratulations on doing it The living nations do not forget the sacrifices of their forefathers but always feel proud of them. The Kashmiri people are also engaged in the struggle to take the purposeful movement of Nila Butt to its destination and are giving their sacrifices for it.
Our great Kashmiri leaders, including Mujahid -E -Awal Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, have left this mortal world with the yearning for freedom in their hearts, we cannot forget their sacrifices and services, their dream of freedom will be fulfilled soon. The Jihad that started at Nila Butt eventually spread throughout the state and thus there was an outburst of rebellion and hatred against the Dogra rulers, which had been suppressed for years due to fear. The first bullet that Sardar Qayyam fired made a hole in the cloak of Dogra Amrit and it continued to grow and an organized struggle began to spread. In this way, calling Nila Butt as a milestone of the freedom struggle is totally correct Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, the founder of this struggle and 22 year-old enthusiastic leader, gained universal fame as Mujahid-e-Awal. He has not only spread pearls of wisdom, understanding and wisdom in the politics of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan for decades, but through a historic interview on India’s ZTV in 1995, he faced the tough questions of the very intelligent Indian anchor Rajat Sharma. And he answered every question with a smile.
On which the world was convinced of his political prowess. He lived on the horizon of political scene of Kashmir till the end of July 10th.He passed away on Friday at the Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital in Rawalpindi, leaving behind millions of mourners.

23rd August ,the history of Kashmir has the same importance as any nation in the history of the country, the first point of struggle is the first brick in a building and the first step in a long journey. On the other hand, the then young Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Khan declared Jihad from Nila Butt, which was aimed at the independence of the 23 thousand square mile area of ??the state consisting of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
On the contrary, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, under the dupe of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and other Congress leaders, confirmed the fictitious annexation of the state to India by Maharaja Hari Singh of Ulsterlamb.By confirming, the people of Kashmir were handed over to the slavery of India. On July 19, 1947, the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, the representative party of Islamic Jammu and Kashmir, had announced its decision in the form of a resolution in favor of the accession of Kashmir to Pakistan. The conspiracy to seize Kashmir was at its height in Delhi, and the foundation of a deep conspiracy was laid by giving the territory of Gurdaspur to India.This conspiracy worked and occupied Jammu and Kashmir is still under siege of brutal Indian forces.
