Chief Spokesman JKLF; Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) incarcerated Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has threatened to go for an indefinite hunger strike if he is not provided with a fair trial and his physical appearance is not made possible in the 32-years old Air Force and Rubaiya Syed baseless cases pending against him in the Jammu TADA Court.

According to a statement issued from party’s Central Information Office by Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Chief Spokesman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Special Representative of Yasin Malik, that Muhammad Yasin Malik during an online hearing of Air Force case in Jammu TADA Court yesterday once again while inquiring from the judge about fair trial of the cases and his physical presence in the Jammu Court revealed that he has written a letter to the Government of India in this regard and has demanded to ensure his physical attendance so that he can defend himself by cross-examining his witnesses in court. The letter reads, according to Yasin Malik to the Judge, that if his demands are not met then he (Yasin Malik) will start an indefinite hunger strike in Tihar Jail from 22nd July against this unjust behavior of the government of India and the judiciary.

According to the JKLF spokesman, it is worth mentioning that at the behest of the Government of India a special court in Delhi on May 25 this year unfairly sentenced Yasin Malik to life imprisonment under the guise of fabricated and concocted cases filed against him. The sentence was termed as political victimization of Yasin Malik and widely condemned from across the both sides of the ceasefire line in Jammu Kashmir and abroad. The spokesman said that not only the people across the state are still in protest but the human rights organizations and activists around the world have also raised their voices against the court decision which are being echoed even today at international fora’s including in UK and Europe. The Spokesperson in his statement thanked all those associations, personalities and parties who are still doing their utmost to get justice for Yasin Malik and are relentlessly working for his early release.

Expressing deep concern over the deteriorating health of imprisoned national political leader Muhammad Yasin Malik, the spokesman said that the entire responsibility for any harm done to Yasin Malik would fall on the Government of India. He said that Yasin Malik’s demands were based on truth and justice which India should not feel ashamed to recognize immediately. In his statement, the JKLF spokesman appealed to the world community, especially the United Nations and international human rights organizations and activists to intervene on this occasion and play their vital role in saving the life of every beloved public leader like Yasin Malik.

According to the spokesperson, in an already convened meeting of the Supreme Council of JKLF, to be held on Saturday, July 16, among other issues, the future course of action in this regard shall also be formulated accordingly.
