Islamabad,  (Parliament Times) : Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has said that students of Balochistan are increasingly participating in educational and creative activities which will have an impact on the overall socio-economic development of the country. “However, it is imperative that the problems of students from remote areas of Balochistan are addressed on priority basis.” said Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.
Chairman Senate was briefed by Secretary Ministry of Human Rights Afzal Latif on the steps taken to address the problems faced by Baloch students and the work of the specially constituted commission and the progress made in this regard. The Chairman Senate said that the consultative process should be expedited to finalize the report of the commission so that relief could be provided to the Baloch students and their grievances could be addressed. He further said that a special briefing on the whole process would be held after the Eid-ul-Adha holidays.
The Chairman Senate stressed that education is a fundamental right and for this it is very important to solve the legitimate issues of the students which prevent them from accessing this fundamental right.
Secretary Human Rights Afzal Latif briefed the Chairman Senate on the progress made so far. He informed that the ministry was seriously trying to solve the problems of Baloch students and the report of the special commission would be finalized soon.
