Islamabad,(Parliament Times):The staff of National Commission on Rights of Child (NCRC) have finally received their first salary after two long years of working in PTI government without any remuneration even. The Chairperson still looking forward to award of MP 1 grade that is legal condition for government to pay to a chairperson of a commission.
NCRC was established in PTI government on special direction of PM Imran Khan. It is requirement for any country that enjoys GSP status from European Union. The commission was formed but forgotten by the then government soon after its formation through act of the Parliament. Moreover, the In-charge Minister Human Rights, Shereen Mazari was never happy with the Chairperson NCRC for reasons known to the then minister only.
Shereen Mazari never let the Commission have its service rules and salaries. She misused her influence on the then PM to snatch the autonomous status of the commission, bringing it under her own powers. Shereen Mazari did not stop here but lowered the grade of the Chairperson from legal MP 1 to Illegal MP 2.
The NCRC has performed amazingly in previous years just for the sake of the nation and children, putting aside the leg pulling of the minister and her accomplices. Most recent achievement of the NCRC is to satisfy the delegation of GSP that is on review visit to Pakistan these days.
The incumbent Minister Human Rights, Mr. Riaz Hussain Peerzadah called the heads of all departments and commissions working under the ministry soon after he assumed his charge. He is cleaning the dirt concealed by the previous minister under the carpets.
Examining the responses of the ministers , Shereen Mazari remained hostile and rival to NCRC always while Mr. Riaz Hussain Peerzadah has emerged as a saviour of this much needed commission for the welfare of the children of the country.
That is why, it is said that ” Woman only is the enemy of a Woman.”
The staff of NCRC has thanked the Minister for taking notice of their long due grievances and solving their problems. The have expressed hope that they will get the dues of previous two years as well in the present government. The staff is also optimistic about the restoration of the autonomous status of the Commission as described in the act of the parliament.
