Islamabad, (Parliament Times): President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that Japan can play important role in resolving the long running Kashmir dispute that happens to be a bone of contention in the region.The AJK president said this while talking to Nakagawa Yasushi, the Political Counselor, Embassy of Japan at the Presidency, here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Chaudhary while highlighting the dangerous dimensions of the Kashmir conflict said, “Any untoward incident in the region can trigger a war between the two nuclear states”.He said that Japanes can better understand the dire situation in the south Asian region as they had witnessed the terrible consequences of the nuclear war in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.“Being a close friend of both the countries, Japan can play important role to help resolve the Kashmir dispute peacefully”, the president said adding that Kashmiris were looking forward to Japan’s proactive role in resolving the long pending dispute that continues to bedevil relations between India and Pakistan
