Lahore: The meeting was attended by officials of Punjab Health Insurance Atom Management Company and State Life Insurance Company. Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique during the meeting reviewed further steps for universal health insurance. State Life Insurance Company officials briefed the provincial minister on the details of M-paneling and treatment of more hospitals in Punjab for Universal Health Insurance. Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said, “we are trying to provide maximum free medical treatment to the people of Punjab through Universal Health Insurance. Health insurance is the brain child of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz want to provide the best healthcare facilities to the people. In order to provide better treatment facilities to the people of Punjab, more hospitals are being fast-tracked. We also want to provide bone marrow transplantation facility to the families of Punjab through Universal Health Insurance. Government hospitals in Punjab from night to morning, doctors are trying to attend and provide better treatment facilities to patients. For the convenience of patients in government hospitals of Punjab will have to go out in the field. State Life staff in selected public and private hospitals in Punjab must ensure better treatment of patients. Complaints from the public regarding Universal Health Insurance will be addressed on priority basis. Treatment of patients will be monitored through Universal Health Insurance by visiting selected hospitals of Punjab. Appeal to the scholars of Punjab to create awareness among the people about universal health insurance through sermons in mosques.”
