ISLAMABAD / MELBOURNE:   Australia’s men’s cricket team’s captain Pat Cummins has said that coming test series against Pakistan will be a ‘tough one’, adding that his team had to stand victorious if it wanted to stay ‘number one’.
“We will have to win in Sub-continent in order to stay on top” he said during an interview.
“It’s not necessary to win every test match; you have to work hard to draw it also” he said, explaining that drawing down a series would also be considered as a victory in Subcontinent.
“Test matches in the subcontinent are either played on very fast pitches or very slow, we haven’t played much away in the form of a unit, but we will try to win this time” Cummins said.
Ausie skipper said that players always have to act strong for test matches both mentally and physically. “We will have to face fierce reverse swing and spin as well as to maintain a good run rate during Pakistan series” he said.
