Lately the scathing attacks on media reportage by flagrant government security forces and militants has conveyed that this country lacks freedom of speech and expression. Journalists have been emphasised from the sovereignties to cease arraigning the government institutions and judiciary. There were some cases when the government regulative power blocked the cable operator and television channels that had broadcasted critcal programs. In September, the FIA perpetuate probing about the twelve reporters and activists for violations of the electronic crime act. Journalists were also incriminated for the proclamation publicised on social media. On 9 September Absar Alam a senior news reporter from punjab province was inculpated for using snub language against the government. On 11 September Bilal Farooqi a news editor was arrested on charges of rabble-rousing and detained for hours. On September 15 a news reporter of Samaa television in Rawalpindi Asad Ali Taoor was charged for making comments on Twitter. It was not quite sufficient, the government officials used NAB to target the critics. On March 12, Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman , editor-in-cheif of the Jang group, largest media group in Pakistan, accused on charges relating to 34-year old property transactions. On August foremost group of women journalists also encountered death and rape threats who reported against government authorities. Nongovernmental Organisation (NGOs) delated against threats , harassment and surveillance of various by government authorities. This stern issue must not be neglected.
