Sajid Ali Naich:Media is one of the firm and unflinching pillars of the state who plays pivotal role in stabilizing it. It moralizes and acts as watchdog on every activity of high officials. Unlike military, judiciary and politics, it isn’t siezed into boundaries. It generates awareness among masses and enlightens their sleeping soul. In ancient times, when camera was not yet invented, correspondence through newspaper and written work was pervasive. After camera and video channels formation, it forged a platform for common people and accumulated under banner of unity, equality and justice. Every developed nation supports its media, as it disrupts several intrigues plotting at national security level. But dissimilar to other progressive countries, in Pakistan, media freedom is under potent threat. Any possible opportunity to suppress media is never envaded. Gratitude to this globle hunt, which is internet, that has adequately modernized backward regions of Pakistan and has transformed their savage mindset into a civilized society through relentless struggle performed by scholars and correspondences. Since the inception of this country, media and has been widely controlled and used as political puppet. No matter, the fact could be favouring national gains but report that would be published will be steered for someone’s personal benefits in the power.
Media has made public opinion. As it works under mafia’s nourishment, advocated and corrupt officials are circulated on the screens of televisions and mobile phones during days of elections. Somehow, media has too failed to secure their own obligations. Corrupt journalists, fake news reports, illegal and flawed interviews that persistently reminds the weakness of the media.For undaunted development and successful progress of any country, it is compulsory to free media circulation with full collaboration of government. Media shouldn’t be marginalized into the bars or some sort of shackles. Rather, it must work as foundling, who describes what it sees. Freedom of media would support youth to proceed forward in valuable activities. Today’s aggressive issues that standoff education, health, employment has solo elixir that is freedom of media. Undaunted talks and demands must vibrate on the electronic screens who codify religion and interpret holy verses for their fame and gains. Barely, solution for Pakistan’s above malacious evils lies in freedom of media that will segregate deceptive thoughts and superstition and it will provide huge access to development and successful results, in every coming task for this country.
