Muzaffarabad: A sit-in protest was organized under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir on the call of All Parties Hurriyat Conference against the killing of Kashmiri citizens in fake encounters by Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

According to the details, anti-India sit-in was attended by a large number of people, including leaders of various political and religious parties here on Friday.

The participants were chanting slogans against Indian atrocities while carrying banners and placards on which phrases against fake encounters and human rights violations in IIOJ&K were written.

Speakers on the event has said that India’s ruthless army is openly involved in killing of Kashmiri citizens in fake encounters.

They maintained that the martyrdom of Dr. Mudassar Gul, Mohammad Altaf Bhatt, Amir Magra and other unarmed youths in fake encounters are matter of concern for human rights organizations like Amnesty International and Asia Watch.

“The world is watching that India turned the state of Kashmir into a death cell”, speakers voiced.

Speakers maintained that Indian government has completely usurped the liberties in IIOJ&K and millions of people are being deprived of their political, religious and social rights.

In these circumstances, the United Nations Security Council, the OIC, peace and justice-loving nations and institutions of the world must come forward and take notice of the Indian barbarism.

The speakers demanded the international human rights organizations should play an effective role in restoring civil liberties in IIOJ&K.

Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, Vice Chairman International Forum for Justice Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Ateeq-ur-Rehman Danish, All Pakistan Muslim League leader Javed Ahmad Mughal, Usman Ali Hashim, Dr Muhammad Manzoor, Syed Hamza Shaheen and others were present on the occasion.

Earlier this week, Indian armed forces killed 9 Kashmiri citizens in Haiderpura and Kulgam areas of IIOJ&K in different encounters and after that massive protest processions were observed by Kashmiri people living along both sides of Line of Control.
