Sahiwal, (Bureau Report) : A seminar on ‘Stress Management’ was organized at Sahiwal Medical College in collaboration with the Department of Medical Education and the Department of Psychology. Dr Muhammad Ayub, Professor of Psychiatry, University College London, gave a special lecture. “Stress is a common problem that affects human abilities, so trying to deal with your problems is a matter of time,” he said. The seminar was attended by Principal Sahiwal Medical College Prof. Dr. Rashid Qamar Rao and a large number of faculty members and students. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Dr. Sajid Mustafa and Dr. Rafi Abbas were also present on the occasion. On this occasion, Dr. Rashid Qamar Rao highlighted the importance of Facilitation and Counseling Desk and said that the purpose of its establishment is to solve mental and psychological problems in students. It has been formally launched and its team will solve children’s problems every Tuesday from 9 am to 11 am. In addition, a walk in ‘Mental Health Awareness’ was organized at Government Haji Abdul Qayyum Hospital in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health and Medical Education. Principal Sahiwal Medical College Prof. Dr. Rashid Qamar Rao, MS Dr. Furqan, Dr. Zeeshan, Dr. Ehtesham, Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Dr. Sajid Mustafa, Dr. Rafi Abbas, faculty members and paramedical staff participated in the walk. Dr. Rashid Qamar Rao said that 5 to 25 out of every 100 people suffer from mental problems and due to being a developing country these problems are increasing day by day in our country. “Psychological problems can be solved and remedied,” he said.
