Zong wins 3G/4G tenders in AJK,

ISLAMABAD,(Parliament Times) : A tender has been decided to provide 3G and 4G internet service in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Cellular company Zong bought 4G spectrum from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan for US 14.398 million dollars. Telenor Jazz and Ufone had also applied for the tender. The real contest was between Jazz and Zong.

The people of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have long struggled to provide better internet and in the end the federal government announced the sale of spectrum to provide next generation mobile service to Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in view of the people’s difficulties.

A young man, Imran Ali Chaudhry while talking to Daily Parliament Times, said that today is a milestone day for all the cities of Azad Kashmir. He belongs to Haveli district and has made a long struggle to provide better internet. He raised the issue vigorously at all federal forums, including the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. “Better internet is needed by every household and to achieve this goal we raised our voice in every forum. As a result, today PTA auctioned the spectrum”, he said.
