LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar was called on by Provincial law Minister, Raja Basharat. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the government will not go anywhere from any protest movement of political opponents. Opposition should support government on the issue of electoral reforms to make the upcoming elections in the country completely transparent. In the current situation of Afghanistan , unity and solidarity are needed in our country. Those who try to create chaos cannot be the well-wishers of the country. Under leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we are taking practical steps towards development and prosperity of the country.While talking to Raja Mohammad Basharat, Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary affairs and delegations from different districts at Governor’s House Lahore, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the government has a clear policy from day one that the rule of law will prevail in the country, adding that political victimisation is out of question. For the first time in the history of the country, practical steps are being taken for institutional reforms. The country is moving in the right direction and the business index has also increased by 108%.Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that political opponents have already threatened government from protests more than a dozen times, but they haven’t been successful in toppling the PTI government. The public stands by the government’s narrative. Therefore, instead of launching any more protests against the government, the opposition parties should play their democratic role inside and outside the parliament and wait for the next general elections in 2023. Then the people will take decision for the next government with the power of their votes.Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar strongly condemned the Indian atrocities in Indian occupied Kashmir and said that India has become the greatest enemy of peace and humanity. Even the strongest condemnation against India’s brutalities is less. International human rights bodies should take stern notice of the Indian atrocities on Kashmir and resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions, he maintained.
