Sahiwal:  “Beds with oxygen facilities are fully occupied” notification on the main door of covid center in DHQ Sahiwal has been pasted to notify people, no service available right now. Sahiwal District HeadQuarter bearing the burden of not only its own population of 3+ million people but also carrying the burden of 531 villages with only one pulmonologist.

Coronavirus cases have reached 10 percent in April in the Sahiwal division. In the previous two waves, the positive rate was just one or two percent. Said Dr. Asad, chairman of the corona advisory group.

People receiving the date for their vaccination is also hopeless now as the management of the vaccination center is saying, they have no shortage of vaccine.

During the first wave, last year in March, the district government imposed the stricken lockdown in the city, and all the educational institutions were also closed. In isolation the center was working efficiently in Qayyum hospital of Sahiwal, covid kits were available and enough staff too.

This 3rd wave hits hard but the management was very indisposed too. All the junior schools and educational institutions are opened regularly even though there were reputed covid cases in Sahiwal division school.

Dr Zahid Kamal Siddiqi, principal of the Sahiwal Medical College, said the situation would be the worst if the situation went out of control. Reports say the coronavirus patients in the Sahiwal division are 6,004 while 120 people have died from coronavirus complications.
