At least four people have been killed in a blast in the parking near a local hotel on the Zarghoon Road in Quetta yesterday. The blast reportedly has took place when Chinese diplomats were visiting Quetta. Scenes broadcast by local TV channels shortly after the blast also showed cars burning in the parking lot. The Home Minister by targeting India has said that India hates peace in Pakistan but efforts will fail to accomplish her mis-intents. On the contrary, Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah held a press conference and said, “Our own people are involved in these terrorist incidents.” This mismatch of statements between the Ministers prove that until there is no firm investigation of the police, no one can predict how the blast occurred when this is a very sensitive area from a security point of view. The Serena Hotel in Quetta is the single five-star hotel in the town where most of the foreign tourists stay usually. In front of this hotel is the military cantonment of Quetta, adjacent to it is the assembly of Balochistan province and the state high court is also located nearby. According to Police, the explosives were planted in a car, which destroyed several vehicles parked in the hotel parking lot area. As Pakistan’s banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack. If the country is no longer a safe haven for militants and our administration fully supports the Afghan peace talks, then why isn’t the TTP ready to walk out from Pakistan? Why has it destabilized the country in retaliation of it’s unknown agendas? In order to achieve political goals by creating fear and panic among the public, can it be demonstrated as a peaceful state? Every aspect of this incident must be brought under the investigation so that the perpetrators could not escape the law. When the terrorists will reach their end in Pakistan?
