The World Book Day is celebrated in every year on April 23. In this , UNESCO takes all the responsibility of the events. It is generally observed that certain events, UNESCO urges to increase the reading habits of books among the people around world. Sadly, in Pakistan books have lost their real essence as the technology is dominant. Because of a decrease in book reading we face shortage of intellectuals and scholars. Besides, it is important to note that book reading creates a reading environment and boost critical thinking among our youth. Therefore I suggest that government of Pakistan shall take initiatives in order to create a reading culture among youths. Besides, books stall must be arranged at provincial cum local levels to spread awareness among people about the importance of book reading. I hope the government of Baluchistan will also make arrangements in schools, colleges and universities to prioritize book reading.
