Islamabad,   (Parliament Times)   :    Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmed Bhat congratulates British-Pakistani Lawyer Karim Khan on being elected as Chief Prosecutor at International Criminal Court.

Chairman J&KSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat in a statement here in Islamabad today while congratulating Karim Khan said that, Karim Khan is a competent and world-renowned Lawyer, who has worked for almost every international criminal tribunal in roles in prosecution, defence and as counsel for victims.

Khan won a secret ballot against three other candidates to replace lead prosecutor Fatou Bensouda. The 123-member Hague-based court, which began work nearly 20 years ago, handles war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and crimes of aggression.

Chairman J&KSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat added that India since 1989 is committing horrendous Human Rights Violations in Kashmir, over 100,000 Kashmiri people lost their lives, 8000 – 10,000 have disappeared, 2700 mass graves have been discovered in Kupwara Town alone, while the presence of over a million Indian Armed Forces has made Kashmir largest occupation on earth.

While since August 2019, Modi led BJP government of India started war crimes in IIOJ&K, using target killing operations to catch and kill educated youth in fake operations, using war machinery/ammunition to destroy residential areas, demolishing whole housing blocks. Hence Modi and his companions Amit Shah, Ajit Doval must be tried in ICC & ICJ. They must be asked by the Representatives of civilized Nations in these courts about the grave Human Rights violations and illegal occupation of over 8 million Kashmiri people in IIOJ&K.

Chairman J&KSM Bhat while appreciating the efforts of UK & EU Parliamentarians, Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora and Friends of Kashmir in the UK and Europe said that Its time we must all work together as our common goal is that of Right to Self Determination of Kashmiris provided by United Nations. Hence UK & EU Parliamentarians, Diaspora community, and Friends of Kashmir must raise Modi’s war crimes with ICC & ICJ as now we have Karim Khan, a strong defender of Human Rights at ICC.
