MIRPUR (AJK),   (Parliament Times) : Under the spirit to serve the ailing humanity through the generous contribution of the donations to the public-sector hospital and health units in various parts of Azad Jammu Kashmir, the United Kingdom-based world-fame NGO – Muslim Hands International Sunday donated highly valuable hospital appliance to the Mirpur-based Kashmir Institute of Cardiology, the only State-run health facility for the treatment of the patients of cardiology.

 

Health Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan inaugurated the ceremony of handing-over of the generous donation to the KIC. The minister lauded and acknowledged the support and assistance by the Muslim Hands in health and other mass public welfare sectors in various parts of Azad Jammu Kashmir including the expatriates city of Mirpur.

District Health Officer Dr. Fida Hussain, Medical Superintendent Mirpur Division Teaching Hospital Dr. Farooq Ahmed Noor, Head of the KIC Dr. Saeed Alam and other senior officials of the State Health Department and the donor NGO – Muslim Hands were also present on this occasion.

The donation of latest motorized beds and other identical latest appliance provided to the KIC are primarily meant to support the newly established Cath-lab where Angieo-graphy & Angioplasty Surgery facilities will be made available at par with the latest cardiology hospitals in various parts of the country.

 

The hospital appliance donated by the Muslim Hands to the Kashmir Institute of Cardiology include 10 Motorized Beds, 2 Detachable Stretchers, 10 Over Bed Tables, 10 Bed-side Cabinets, 25 Bed Sheets & 12 Pillows with pillow covers, the Muslim Hands spokesman Raja Qamar Atta told our AJK’s Resident Editor and Special Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao on this occasion.

 

The Muslim Hands was doing a marvelous job in the social welfare sector by contributing the installation of water filtration plants in various parts of Mirpur city and rest of the district besides the installation of training academies for the players of cricket, football and other healthy games under the spirit of producing quality future architects of the nation.

 

It may be added that the full-furnished Kashmir Institute of Cardiology (KIC) Mirpur complex was donated by an illustrious local philanthropist and Britain-returned Kashmiri expatriate (Late) Haji Muhammad Saleem, founder of the Nafees Group of Bakers (United Kingdonm and AJK) over three decades ago bearing all the expenditures of its construction to the AJK State Health department over three decades ago for free treatment to the patients of heart and identical diseases.
