Culture of honor killing is practiced often in our country. Honor killing is the homicide of a member of a family or society by the other family member or society member due to the belief that the victim has brought dishonor upon the family or the community. The foolish people view the killing of the victim as a source to restore their honor but in actuality it nothing but the only the killing of their own loved ones. Disheartingly, Pakistan has the most documented cases of honor killing world wide. About 1000 out of 5000 honor killings are performed in Pakistan. Both genders have been victims of honor killings, however, the females have been more vulnerable in this case. The human rights commission of Pakistan lists 460 reported cases of honor killings in 2017, with 194 male victims and 376 female victims. The foolish people view the killing of the victim as a source to restore their honor but in actuality it nothing but the only the killing of their own loved ones. Painfully, in multiple cases women have been killed for very small reasons that are very far from honor and named as honor killing. Honor killing has taken away many sisters, daughters and wives for reasons that actually do not relate to reducing honor. Undeniably, honor killing is a crime against humanity and a great restriction for female gender that needs to be stopped right now.
