Malik Muhammad Aslam Awan
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal along with other sages of the ages rightly and severely felt that Hindus and Muslims are two different nations, as per norms, standards and every definition a nation. They were of concerted opinion that Hindus and Muslims are two different nations as they practice two different religions and have different standards, principles of life. Hindus and Muslims are two sides of river which can never embrace with each other and go parallel to each other. Unlike other new emerging countries Pakistan has been created on Islamic ideology, based on principles of Islam. Being fully aware of the national interest Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his devoted and upright companions struggled for an independent homeland and after a long and hectic struggle Pakistan came into being, as independent territory where every citizen would be free to practise his religion. Paying the price of independence in the form of uncountable sacrifices of human lives, Muslims stepped in the independent homeland and heaved a sigh of relief that they have achieved an independent homeland to live freely as per Divine injunctions. But after the lapse of some time their dreams of independent life smashed with a bang. They felt amazed that they were now free of alien rule but entangled in the form of worst indigenous alien rule. Now the rulers were their own brethren but they, also, treat and rule them in worst form than the British Rulers. Having realized that aliens are gone but the stooges of the aliens have been imposed on their destiny, they became senseless and stunned. Drawing room politicians made an unannounced contract among themselves to divide portfolios with each other. For long the mushroom rulers ruled their country men, who ever dreamt of an independent homeland, but amazingly the independence proved a mirage. Being fatigued of years – long struggle and bereaved of day to day necessities of life they could not come out of financial straits, which was their ultimate destiny after the struggle for independence. Having paid heavy price for independence their destiny was far ahead, compromised with the circumstances and their new masters to live like tamed animals. Politicians and bureaucrats have contracted unannounced pact with each other to plunder the country and erected pyramids of wealth for their progeny, with the plundered wealth they have built citadels for their luxurious living and over spreading wealth heaps to envelope the poor masses into its cruel unclasp. Allah Almighty had made it clear in the Holy Quran, that he will never help the believers unless they help themselves. Sons and daughters of those who were never the part of migration towards independent homeland, have emerge as winners of a battle which they had never fought. Untold tales of human sacrifices still remind us the cost of independence is so cumbersome that several generations will continue to pay the price of struggle for independent homeland. Being an unbiased historian and analyst I am a witness of the merciless plundering of the country by bureaucrats and politicians who appeared on the throne and stage of Politics, not by dirt of their laborious travails but through condemnable maneuvering. An honest, respectable person cannot find himself ready to act like them, as they acted in the guise of well wishers of the masses but truly speaking played a role of “Mir Jaffar” and “Mir Sadiq”. Both Mir Jaffar and Mir Sadiq will remain alive on the pages of history and in the memory of every wise citizen for their cruel betrayal with Muslims but they both could not had sweet fruits of their inherent betrayal and met the fate of dogs, who committed betrayal with their own masters. Their cursed deeds will be a reminiscent past of world history and will ever be quoted whenever there would be examples of severe betrayal with the country and countrymen. Those who have occupied key posts by unfair means, not by dint of hard work and mental labour, will never care national interests but that of their own interest. Selfish persons don’t constitute nations but hoard of persons who have no aim or motto except eat, drink and die. Key post holder treat the masses as if they are the conquerors of the country and masses are at their mercy to harness them as they like. Central superior services which were once a matter of pride to the nation and a chain of illustrious civil servants emerged out of this system to serve the country has now deteriorated to the extent that instead of extensive study, cramming is key to success, how they think when occupying the key post. They think themselves as if they have hailed from another planet, only to rule the masses even to their utter subjugation.
