MIRPUR (AJK):  (Parliament Times)    The visiting British-Kashmiri journalist Shafqar Mirza and the famous British Kashmiri community leader Azad Jiraal from Shefield said here on Friday that the Kashmiri expatriates dwelling in the United Kingdom and the European country would perform their vibrant role to highlight the importance of early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir State under the spirit of the UN resolutions.

The eminent British Kashmiri community leaders expressed these views during their ongoing visit of various parts of AJK including their ancestral city of Mirpur at two separate receptions hosted by Haji Muhammad Sabir, the Supremo of Jannat Welfare Trust and Mirza Waheed Jirral, an eminent entrepreneur of Information Technology in AJK, in their honor here on Friday.

The President of Pakistan Press Club UK, Shefiled Region and Sheffield-based Representative of DUNAYA-News TV Channel Shafqat Mirza and ex Secretary General of PTI South Region UK Azad Jaraal, while speaking on this occasion, continued that the millions of UK and US – based Kashmiri expatriates hailing from AJK – besides various parts of Pakistan to perform their maximum due role for the speedy socio economic progress and prosperity of Pakistan including AJK besides to raise the image of their motherland abroad being the unofficial ambassadors of Pakistan.

“Since the overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris including lacs of those settled in the United States and United Kingdom, are the unofficial ambassadors of Pakistan, they can perform a most significant role for the socio-economic development and speedy progress of the country”, Shafqat said.

The two expatriates elders apprised the journalists of the activities of his organization for the well being of the UK-based Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora.

Speaking on this occasion, the British Kashmiris leader Azad Jaraal apprised underlined various problems confronted by the overseas Pakistanis including Kashmiri expatriates at the Pakistani airports upon their arrival at home besides their ancestral abodes in AJK especially Mirpur division of the the State.

Speaking on this occasion, senior Kashmiri journalists including ex Presidents of Kashmir Press Club Mirpur and senior journalists Altaf Hamid Rao, Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai, former Secretary General KPC Sohrab Ahmed Khan, Shehzada Iqbal and others said that it was a matter of great pride for Pakistan including AJK that Britain-based Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates were performing a significant role in business, political, social sectors and other fields purely on the basis of their high intellect and talent in the concerned fields.

They suggested millions of the expatriates involved in local politics in United States, Britain and other European countries to support only those main-stream political parties of the concerned countries who used to assure their cooperation and active role for the early peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.

The Kashmiri journalist fraternity leaders underlined that the people of Mirpur district always rendered tremendous sacrifices of their valuable properties for the sake of Pakistan whenever needed – first at the time of construction of Mangla dam and later during raising of the dam under the Kashmiris unwavering spirit of treating Pakistan their ultimate destiny.
