ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Rawlapindi based Kashmiri journalists’ bodies including All Kashmir Newspapers Society (AKNS), Kashmir Journalists Forum (KJF) and Kashmir Editors Council (KEC) have announced to hold a joint protest in front of the Parliament House on Wednesday to register their resentment against the use of violence against senior Kashmiri journalist Ejaz Abassi by DG Press Information Department Asim Kitchi.
The decision to this effect was taken after holding detailed discussions during a meeting, which was attended by representatives of the AKNS, KJF and KEC last night. Besides the AKNS president Zahid Tabassum, the meeting was attended by Vice President Kashmir Journalists Forum Irfan Saduzai, Chairman Kashmir Editor Council Raja Kafil and others.
The meeting lamented that the top officials have not yet taken any notice of the incident. The participants of the meeting also requested the journalist organizations of Pakistan and Kashmir to participate in the demonstration.
