Qatar: (Raja Furqan Ahmed) Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy political chief of Taliban met with Special Representative of Germany for Afghanistan Markus Potzel in Doha. Suhail Shaheen, the political spokesperson for the Taliban tweeted that the two sides discussed the current situation of Afghanistan and also emphasise the implementation of the Doha Agreement. “Both sides discussed the current situation of Afghanistan, implementation of Doha Agreement, the release of prisoners and withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan.” He further added that “Moreover, inception of intra-Afghan negotiations and the peace process also came under discussion. The special representative of Germany assured his country’s support for the peace process.”
