MIRPUR (AJK): The world-fame Kashmiri rights outfit – the Global Pakistan Kashmir Supreme Council (GPKSC) Thursday lauded the recent emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) contact group on Jammu & Kashmir expressing grave concern over the fast-deteriorating situation of the internationally-acknowledged disputed Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir – where the Indian occupational forces were engaged in massive human rights abuses besides the pre-planned genocide of the freedom-loving masses in the Muslim-majority occupied state.
In a joint statement issued in London on Thursday, the Global Pakistan & Kashmir Supreme Council Chairman Raja Sikander Khan & President GPKSC Kala Khan said “we also welcome the joint statement delivered by the OIC contact group and J & K State which has urged India to halt the security operations against the people Jammu & Kashmir Immediately and respect their basic human rights, also refrain from changing the demographic structure of the disputed territory and settle the conflict under the specified United Nations security council’s resolution”, says a message reaching and released to the media here on Thursday evening.
“The United Nations resolutions on Jammu & Kashmir are required be implemented without further loss of time – which unequivocally spoke of the holding of a plebiscite in the disputed territory of Jammu Kashmir to enable the local population to decide about their destiny”, the GPKSC leaders underlined.
“The Kashmiris be granted their birth right to self determination under the spirit on the UN resolutions, the only strong and credible way for the early peaceful solution of the vex Kashmir issue”, they underlined.
It may be mentioned here that the OIC Contact Group on Jammu Kashmir meeting was recently held over a zoom webinar under the auspices of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu & Kashmir.
“The OIC was formed in 1994 to coordinate the Kashmir policy on Kashmir dispute and has Azerbaijan, Niger, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia & Turkey as it’s five members”, the GPKSC leader underlined.
The GPKSC Chairman Raja Sikander and President Kala Khan said in the state that August 5th last year was always considered to be the bleak day in the history of Jammu & Kashmir with the the Indian Prime Minister & fascist BJP Leader Narindra Modi revoked Article 370 & 35-A of the Indian constitution guaranteed Jammu & Kashmir special status political status because of the area being the internationally-acknowledged disputed State which barred people from outside the Jammu & Kashmir purchasing land & property or applying for government jobs in the disputed Himalayan State, he underlined.
“Since the August last year the innocent Muslims of Indian Occupied Kashmir are suffering severely due to the curfew and lockdown as well as the communication blackout, we at GPKSC strongly condemn the extrajudicial killings of innocent Muslims and atrocities committed upon the innocent Kashmiris”, the GPKSC leaders said.
The two Kashmiri leaders categorically declared “we also categorically reject the recently-imposed bill of Reorganization & Domicile rules 2020 by the Indian occupational forces in the disputed occupied Jammu Kashmir Sate – which, they added, was complete violation of the United Nations resolutions on Jammu Kashmir, International Human Rights Laws (IHRL) including the 4th Geneva Convention”.
“The GPKSC request the UN, OIC and all the Human Rights organizations to exert diplomatic and otherwise due pressure upon India to immediately stop the gross human rights violations and refrain from changing the geographic & Demographic status of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir as well as ensuring due access to UN, OIC, Human Rights organizations & the International Media to visit the turbulent disputed territory of IOJ&K”, the two leaders reiterated besides demanding the early grant to the people of Jammu & Kashmir their much-awaited fundamental right of self determination, the message said.
