Islamabad:    (Parliament Times)   The Senior Executive Members of UK Pakistan Business Council (UKPBC) unanimously finalized various decisions regarding formation of Council by filling remaining portfolios with majority decisions to make the newly body a vibrant forum to promote business relations and investment among Pakistan and Briton. These decisions were adopted in a meeting held on video link. The meeting was chaired by Chairman UKPBC , Ex Ambassador Mr. Javed Malik, President Pakistan Chapter Mr. Khursheed Barlas, who represented Pakistan Chapter on Video link, while President UK Saleem Sheikh Vice President Mr. Muzaffar, General Secretary Atta ul Haq, Joint Secretary Zeeshan, Finance Secretary Marya, Information Secretary Ameena Ahmed attended meeting from UK. Ahmed Chunaye participated from Karachi while other members attended proceeding of meeting on Video Link. Addressing on the occasion Chairman UKPBC Javed Malik welcomed all participants and said that this forum has been established to bring Pakistan and Uk together for mutual business promotion and resolving issues of traders exporters. He further deliberated that core subject of UKPBC is to find more opportunities for the investors and industrialists of both countries by extending all possible assistance and cooperation. Chairman UKPBC, UK Javed Malik giving brief account of the bilateral interactions among the business community and official circles informed that during the current situation of COVID-19 and expected future scenario it is imperative to make joint efforts for promotion of bilateral trade and investment and keeping in view the long lasting business relations and understating among two countries it has been decided to remain in touch with members to complete procedure and documental process as soon as possible so that council could be made practically functional by absorbing new members from Pakistan and UK. He said that the vision and mission of UKPBC is to bring business community of Pakistan and UK together to create business and employment opportunities. Acknowledging the valuable contributions of senior partner, Mr. javed Malik appreciated dedicated efforts of International Trade & Business Promotion expert Mr. Khurhsid Barlas who had established Pakistan Chapter of UKPBC on sounding footing within limited period. Javed Malik said that the business community of UK has welcomed the forum of UKPBC and assured their full support for further collaboration with their counterparts in Pakistan under the patronage of Pakistan Chapter. The participants of meeting also lauded the efforts of Mr. Atta ul Haq General Secretary who worked hard for fulfilling all requirements with regard to formation of UKPBC within shortest span of time. Various matters parting to COVID-19 current situation, current business activities, investment opportunities, current and expected trade volume despite of economic crises due to COVID-19 development of website, enrollment of new members, coopting Members Board of Governors and Advisory Council, review of Council Constitution and coordination with all stakeholders came under discussion. The participants of the meeting pointed out avenues of business cooperation and working modules. The Chairman UK Pakistan Business Council Pakistan Chapter Mr. Khurshid Barlas said that it is need of hour that we should develop business and trade friendly strategies with the cooperation of public and private sector. He said Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has provided conducive environment of busies in Pakistan especially in real estate and construction sector and overseas Pakistan can get benefit of the special incentives. He assured that UKPBC would set good examples of promotion of Made in Pakistan goods exports in UK besides providing similar opportunities to business community of UK. General Secretary UKPBC Atta ul Haq who conducted the meeting in an efficient manner highlighted the agenda items and asked members to share their expert opinion on related matters so that Council should become an effective and progressive forum for all concerns. He also expressed his gratitude to Chairman Mr. Javed Malik and other senior partners who had spared their valuable time and contributed for UKPBC formation.
