LAHORE: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif has said that government should show seriousness in tackling locust’s threat.
According to media reports the PML-N leader, while expressing concern over attack by swarm of locusts in different parts of the country, said the federation and the provinces should follow a joint comprehensive plan of action.
Shehbaz Sharif warned about the threat of famine if effective steps are not ensured against the locusts attack and urged government to take action on local level.
Difficulties will further increase due to the locusts attack after coronavirus and economic crisis. Farmers will be destroyed and national food security is at stake owing to the threat, he added.
