MIRPUR, (Parliament Times): With the detection of 5 new suspects tested positive during last 24 hours in Azad Jammu Kashmir, the number of COVID-19 infected persons tested positive in the State tally rose to 33, AJK health authorities said in an official statement released to the media on Thursday.

Four of the new suspects tested positive belong to Palandri district and the fifth new comer hail from Rawalakot district, the official statement said. As many as 48 new suspects of corona virus were registered in Azad Jammu Kashmir during last 24 hours and all of them were got tested, the State Health Authorities said on Thursday . At least 72 more patients were discharged from various quarantine centers in AJK on Thursday after they completely recovered and were tested negative of COVID-19, AJK health authorities said. Updating the overall current COVID-19 so far situation in AJK, the Health Authorities continued that a total of 631 suspected cases were sent for test of whom the result of 583 have reached. Of these only 33 of the suspects were tested positive. All rest of 550 suspects were tested negative. Since a total 33 suspects were so far, tested positive across AJK which included 10 patients admitted in Isolation Center in New City Teaching hospital, Mirpur, 12 in DHQ Hospital Bhimbher, and Three admitted in CMH Rawalakot, one in DHQ Hospital Kotli and 6 in Palandri DHQ hospital. It6 may be mentioned here that since one of the patients tested positive on March 17 identified as Liaqat Hussain resident of Palanadri, the first Corona virus hit person in AJK, has so far been discharged from New Mirpur city Teaching Hospital following completely recovery, a total of 32 suspects tested positive are under treatment at various AJK hospitals at present and moving to the recovery, the State hospitals sources said. Results of 48 new cases are awaited which are scheduled to reach in a day or two next. AJK govt. has established 57 Quarantine centers at various locations in Azad Jammu Kashmir for dispensation of treatment to the pandemic affectees hailing from Azad Jammu Kashmir. In case of the positive tests, all concerned are shifted to the isolation center for due Medicare, the state health authorities statement said .
