ISLAMABAD:    Pakistan has welcomed condemnation by Iran of persecution of Muslims at the hands of Hindu extremists in Delhi while India has rejected it.

Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said in his twitter “ I fully agree with the reservations expressed by my brother Javad Zarif with reference to security and welfare of Muslims in the perspective of open violence being faced by Indian Muslims from RSS mob in New Delhi. Gruesome and organized genocide of Muslim in India is inhuman and is a threat to all the region.

On the other hand India has expressed annoyance over Iranian FM Javad Zarif statement. Iranian ambassador in New Delhi was summoned in Indian foreign ministry and Indian government lodged protest with him against Javad Zarif statement.

According to media reports Iranian ambassador was told that Javad Zarif statement is fully uncalled for , unjust and unacceptable. It was further said to him that Indian leadership was disappointed over the statement given by Iranian FM at the internal affairs of India.

According to Indian foreign ministry statement “ describing by him selective characteristics of the incidents which have recently taken place in New Delhi is not acceptable.

On the other side Iranian students and civil society staged protest against anti Muslims riots in India outside Indian embassy in Tehran . The protesters called for immediate end to genocide of Muslims in India.
