Jammu:    Indian security forces martyred three youths on Friday morning at the Nagrotta area on the Srinagar Jammu National Highway linking Kashmir Valley in occupied Kashmir. A Jammu and Kashmir police officer was injured in the encounter.

According to the South Asian Wire, official sources said that a truck coming towards Jammu and Kashmir from Jammu and Kashmir around 5am was stopped at the Bunn Toll Plaza in Nagrotta after a policeman was injured in the exchange of fire. The young man was martyred.

According to IG Jammu Mukesh Singh, the number of other people in the truck was reported to be two to three. Later there was a clash between security forces and the youth near Bunn Toll Plaza in which two youth were martyred.

According to the South Asian Wire, the administration stopped movement of traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. The main installations of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police are located in Nagrotta.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said that one militant had been killed in the shootout while the rest had escaped to the adjoining forest area.
