Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Punjab Minister for Women Development Aashifa Riaz Fatyana has said that women have great potential and capabilities and they can play pivotal role in socio-economic development besides creating awareness among women population about their rights. She stated this while addressing first session of National Consultative Workshop organized by Dukhtar e Pakistan at International Islamic University Campus Faisal Mosque on Wednesday. Researchers, Women Rights Protections Organization office bearers, faculty members and students of various universities attended the workshop. Rector Islamic University Maasoom Yasin Zai, Director General IIUI, Zia ul Haq and heads of various sections attended the Workshop. Addressing on the occasion, Provincial Minister Aashfia Riaz Fatiana said that women are half of population and their active role in all segments of society is imperative for national development. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan and guidance of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usamn Buzdair Punjab Government has introduced ambitious plan of actions for women development and social up lift of the rural development. She was of the view that Islam has identified the role of Muslim Women and it is our privileged to depict their true image of our religions throughout the world with our character and performance. Aashifa Riaz Fatiana said that Dikhtar e Pakistan has provided a platform to women belonging to all sect and religions to excel their talent and play their role for maintain peace and tranquility. She said that their movement of would be promoted in both rural and urban areas for character building, social independence awareness and empowerment.
