ZHOB: Balochistan Rural Support Programme held a stakeholders meeting under its Balochistan Rural Development and Community Empowerment programme at BRSP office here. The meeting was aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation between the organization and communities, issues faced by them and to review the ongoing development schemes in different union councils of the district. District Sports Officer Amir Muhammad Kakar presided over the meeting. NSCR coordinator Afzal Kakar, Coordinator BRSP Sherani Qasim Khan Sherani, Livelihood Officer Shereen, MIS officer Yousaf Mandokhail, UC Secretary Badinzai Juma Rahim, Wali Khan from Gundei Sulaimanzai, Shakoor from Takkei, president LSO Barakwala Malik Kareem, Bashir Khan from LSO Sabakzai, Amir from LSO Gustoi, community members from Dhana Abdullahzai, Badinzai, Garda Babar and Shahabzai UCs attended the meeting in a large number. Field Unit In-charge Naqeebullah Babar, Capacity Building Officer Wahid Shah and Senior Social Organizer Yousaf shed light on the BRSP’s programs and briefed the participants. “BRSP is working in 29 districts of Balochistan on social mobilization, human resource development, water and sanitation, livelihood, education, health and emergency response”, adding the organization has endeavored determinately to improve the living conditions of rural communities across the province. “BRACE programme is being implemented in nine districts including Zhob – financed by European Union that supports the provincial government in reducing poverty, social inequality, environmental degradation, climate change and empower resilient communities’ actively participation in identifying and implementing socioeconomic development activities,” they said. Meanwhile, the stakeholders shared their ideas, discussed the issues and appreciated the BRSP’s role in development and in provision of basic facilities of life to the people in far-off areas of the district.
