MUZAFFARABAD:   (Parliament Times)     The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Friday laid the foundation stone of the buildings for Information and Public Relation Department (DGPR) and Central Press Club (CPC).

Both the projects would be completed at a cost of Rs. 125.755 million in two years’ time.

Addressing on the occasion, Raja Farooq Haider said that Information Department and Press has close working relationship. “Government will construct buildings for Information Department and Press Club at all districts”, He announced.

The Prime Minister said that scarcity of funds would never be a hurdle in completion of these building.

He said to address the issues of the journalists, Press Foundation has been constituted.

The Prime Minister asked media to play its due role and counter propaganda of India against people of Occupied Kashmir.

He said Indian state terrorism in the occupied valley and its unprovoked firing at Cease Fire Line (CFL) targeting civilians needs to be projected in true perspective.

Raja Farooq Haider referred to yesterday Indian firing in which father and his son belonging to Neelum Valley martyred, such casualties are reported on daily basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Director General Information and Public Relation Raja Azhar Iqbal said the basic purpose of his department is to facilitate journalists and issue advertisements of different government departments.

He said steps are underway to improve Press Foundation. Entire record of the Newspapers is being digitalized while Web TV will also start functioning.

Director General Information informed that Senior Minister Chaudhary Tariq Farooq has already initiated work on Press Club buildings at Bhimber, Neelum, Hattian and Sudanhoti districts while Mirpur and Kotli has already their buildings.

Speaking on the occasion, President Central Press Club Tariq Naqash thanked the government initiative for welfare of the journalists.

He hoped that this Press Club will give a new vigor to media voice for giving language to the voices of oppressed Kashmiri people. “The Indian brutalities will be exposed effectively”, he added.

President CPC expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Farooq Haider for taking personal interest in this project.

Senior Minister Chaudhary Tariq Farooq, Minister Auqaf Raja Abdul Qayyum, Minister Education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani, Minister for TEVTA Dr. Mustafa Bashir, President Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt, Ibrar Haider, Ghulam Raza Kazmi and others were also present on the occasion.
