Lahore:      Accountability Court (AC) Lahore has dismissed the acquittal pleas of Khawaja brothers in Paragon Housing scam.
AC Lahore took up the Paragon Housing case for hearing on Thursday.

During the course of hearing, Khawaja Brothers were presented before court by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Counsel of Khawaja Brothers said that Paragon society is private therefore NAB cannot do investigation because case of private company falls in the jurisdiction of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

NAB did illegal investigation and filed the reference.

Counsel prayed court to release suspects and withdraw indictment.
NAB prosecutor took the plea that indictment has been imposed upon the suspects after that court cannot conduct hearing of any such case, therefore court should order to dismiss the pleas.
AC judge after hearing the arguments of both respondents dismissed the bail pleas of Khawaja brothers.
Court has also dismissed the pleas of Khawaja brothers challenging court’s jurisdiction and seeking withdrawal of indictment..
Court while extending the judicial remand of both suspects by 14 more days sent them back to jail.

Court has summoned witnesses of the case upon next hearing and adjourned the hearing till Oct 30.
