Karachi: Terming youth as the future of country, renowned artist Anwar Maqsood has urged young and educated youth to utilize their intellect and talent to materialize their dreams.

Addressing graduation ceremony organized by the Arts Council Institute of Arts and Crafts here on Monday Maqsood said, “If you are born poor it is not your mistake but dying a poor is definitely your mistake. If you have talent and intelligence you can touch the heights of achievements”.

He told the participants that Arts Council Karachi is a platform where they can learn art, music, theater and dance.

“Children of Karachi are equipped with great potential and talent. I would like to congratulate the kids who come here to learn and especially special kids whose minds are more creative than other students”, he said.

President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that I have taken an initiative to create a university of Fine and Performing Arts, by working together with various countries including Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Turkey and Germany.

Arts Council of Pakistan is also leading in the field of music, and we are trying to improve everyday plus a lot of concemtration is also bring given to departments of dance and theater.

He also added by saying that ” I hosted the World’s First Urdu Conference and first Youth Festival in Pakistan. I have been involved with literature and music since childhood and have a personal interest in the field of Fine & Performing Arts.

Shahid Rasm, Principal ACIAC has done exemplary work at the ACIAC academy.

Speaking to the audience he said that we want the child not just to take a degree from here but to get a proper hands on training with their related education which is very extremely important so that when the students passes out, they do not face any problems in landing a job for themselves.

ACIAC started in 1964, Muhammad Ahmed Shah revolutionized it and started this scholarship program. Whatever I am today, it is the blessing of Anwar Bhai.

Nadeem Ahmed said that I am feeling very good unless there is a progress in our country’s art, theater, music, film, cinema, drama, and then I think those who are working for Arts Council Karachi. It seems that the time had come that Pakistan will be very peaceful country and the art industry will flourish here. Among the children who won the award, All-Karachi Technical Board had first position holder Reza Muhammad (Communication Design), second Farhana Naz (Fine Art) and third Wasi ul Hassan (Fine Art), while in the second year, first Anila Arshad, second Khadija Yousuf, Rahat Tasneem of the third, Romarskheza of the fourth, Jawad Jan of the first year, Rimsha Khan second, of Behzad Warsi third and Tahira Khan took fourth position. During the ceremony a documentary was shown in which students and gave their feedback on art, painting and textile.

At the end of the ceremony, Anwar Maqsood distributed shields, medals and checks to students. Anwar Maqsood and Nadeem Ahmed were presented floral bouquets by Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.
