Rawalpindi:   (Parliament Times)    Former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Naval Chief Admiral (r) Iftikhar Ahmed Sarohi has expressed gratification over the services of Anjuman Faizul Islam (orphanage) it is rendering to alimonies and education of orphans.

He was addressing a ceremony of inauguration of new dining hall constructed for inmates of Anjuman Faizul Islam Mandra Campus. Some 500 children can sit together and eat meals in newly constructed dining hall. President Anjuman Faizul Islam Mohammad Siddique Akbar Mian, SVP Dr. Riaz Ahmed, VP Izhar Fatima, General Secretary Raja Fateh Khan, Raja Sabir Hussain and other office bearers and members of AFI were present on the occasion.

Iftikhar Ahmed Sarohi cut the inaugural ribbon and offered prayer along with the others. He said providing necessities of life to deprived ones especially orphans was a great act of virtue deeply liked by the Almighty Allah and His Prophet (PBUH). ‘’ I am very pleased to see such a beautiful dining hall and other facilities being offered to orphans by AFI’’, he added.

He also took a round of Faizul Islam Technical Training Institute. While admiring the high standard of the institute he said the promotion of technical education was a must to rise to the occasion if we want to respectable place among the world nations and to achieve the goal of prosperity.

In his welcome address, the president of AFI Mohammad Siddique Akbar Mian told that there were 6 welfare centres of AFI working in Rawalpindi and its surrounding areas. He said AFI was established in 1943 on the behest of founder of the Pakistan Quid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. ‘’Since that AFI has been rendering it duties with regard to give shelter and education to orphans and also playing purpose full role in nation building by promoting national harmony’’, he mentioned.
