ISLAMABAD:     Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders (ICST) on Thursday said the business community is fed up with the parliamentary system and they would prefer a presidential form of government in the country.

The parliamentary system has failed to improve the economy or help masses, therefore, it should be abandoned in the national interest, it said.

The economy has always progressed during the presidential system while corrupt grew in the dysfunctional parliamentary system at the cost of masses, said Patron ICST Shahid Rasheed Butt.

He said that Pakistan is located in the region which was once wealthiest in the world while our country that had advanced loans to the USA, Germany, and Japan it is dependent on loans for its survival.

The credit of the current disappointing situation goes to the corrupt politicians who are just concerned about their ill-gotten wealth, he added.
