Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Faisal Termizi has said that Kyrgyzstan has great potential of Pakistani products and it can become a trade route to reach 18 crore population of Central Asian region. He stated this while talking in an interactive session at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Islamabad arranged by Convener International Trade Committee, of FPCCI, Mr. Khursheed Barlas which was attended by Vice Chairman FPCCI, Mr. Ijaz Abbasi, MD, Pakistan Stock Exchange Mian Ayyaz, Deputy Convener, Fatima Azeem, former Ambassador Shoukat Muqadam, Fahad Barlas, Asfandyar Afridi and other members. Mr. Faisal Termizi said that there are historical relations among Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and we can revive bilateral trade among two countries by exchange of trade delegations and initiating mutual trade activities. He said we are trying to make direct air rout operational to Kyrgyzstan and promote tourism which would bring both countries together after frequent exchange of visits. He said Pakistan can export pharmaceuticals, fruits, food items, warm cloths and a number of other items to Kyrgyzstan. He said strong historic relations exist between both countries and Pulao, Kofta, korma, Aalu Ghosht, broken rice and shashlik are favourite diets of the people of Kyrgyzstan and Trout fish is also available abundantly there. He further said that there is huge demand of chitrali topi, shawls, warm clothing, pharmaceutical, kinno, potato, onions and furniture in Kyrgyzstan and these opportunities should be used by the traders in Pakistan. The spare parts of the vehicles can be imported from Kyrgyzstan. He said cloth stitching standard of Kyrgyzstan are excellent. Top quality Honey is available at low price and dry fruits is also found commonly there. Mr. Ijaz Abbasi apprised Ambassador about the initiatives of FPCCI undertaken to increase of exports besides facilitating traders and manufacturers. Mr. Khurseed Barlas informed that International Trade Committee striving hard to avail optimum opportunities to increase trade related activities. Participants of meeting also shared their experiences and give suggestions for the purpose. Former Ambassador Shaukat Ali Kakhdoom discussed in detail the Pakistani products to foreign countries. A detailed discussion was held to get benefits from the export opportunities in Kyrgyzstan.
