Islamabad: Former President Pervaiz Musharraf has once again refused to record statement through video link.
However, a petition for his acquittal has been filed in the court.
Special court Islamabad took up the high treason case against Pervaiz Musharraf for hearing on Thursday.
Counsel of Pervaiz Musharraf took the plea that his client will not record statement through video link.
Court remarked that attendance of suspect is mandatory to record the statement in general circumstances however here we are talking about the special circumstances.
Counsel said that here not mine but my client’s trial is going on and I also wanted that my client should come back to country but his ailment prolonged.
Salman Safdar Advocate prayed court that Musharraf checkup should be conducted after sending doctor’s penal and Musharraf will bear the expenditure of doctor’s visit too.
He said that Musharraf went outside country with the permission of government.
Musharraf fell in the washroom therefore he cannot walk, he said.
He said that only federal government can file the high treason case and federal government means federal cabinet not interior ministry while case against Musharraf was not registered according to law.
He said no decision of cabinet is on the record.
He said that trial has no legal standing being the case illegal against Musharraf.
He said trial can not take place without the approval of cabinet.
