MIRPUR (AJK): Strongly condemning the continued victimization of Kashmiri students getting studies in various Indian educational institutions including universities, AJK President Sardar Masood Khan said on Wednesday that ever since Palwama episode occurred, the Kashmiri students getting studies in Indian educational institutions including universities were constantly being made the target of severe violence and inhuman treatment.

He was addressing 1st convocation at the state-run AJK university in Kotli. A total of 600 students of both gender were given degrees on completion of their studies in various disciplines on this occasion. Besides, 15 boy and girl students were awarded gold medals in acknowledgement of their outstanding performance and securing distinctive marks in the exams.

The AJK President observed that the reported Palwama suicide attack was the outburst of the Indian atrocities, which New Delhi unleashed against the innocent people in Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir since past seven decades.

Sardar Masood asked India to take cognizance of the gravity of the current Kashmiri situation and let people of Jammu Kashmir to decide about their destiny – instead of framing baseless allegations against Pakistan vis-à-vis the Palwama incident, he added.

The AJK President called upon the students, getting higher education in line with the needs of the modern age, to focus for performing their due role for changing the fate of the region through their high intellect and pen.

Sardar Masood Khan underlined as saying that emerging of the recent report public from the Untied States of America against the increased Indian forces brutalities in Kashmir, was a good omen.

He called upon the international community including the United Nations and Human rights organizations to ensure their due practical role for grant of right of self determination to the Jammu Kashmir people under the spirit of the international norms and commitments without further loss of time.
