MIRPUR (AJK): Finally the much-awaited appointment of the New Vice Chancellor of the state-run Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST), Mirpur was made on Friday after the AJK government inducted seasoned academician Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan as Vice Chancellor of the varsity initially for a period of three years.

“The President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, in exercise of powers conferred by section 11 of the Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST), Mirpur Act 2014 on the basis of the recommendations of the Senate, has been pleased to accord approval for appointment of Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan as Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST) subject to the terms and conditions including ‘this appointment shall initially be for a period of three years, extendable if required and the Vice Chancellor shall be entitled to draw salary package as admissible to Vice Chancellor of the Public Sector universities”, says an official notification issued by Services & General Administration Department of AJK government on Friday.

Dr. Iqrar will replace the incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rehana Asghar, who was inducted to the office about a week ago as ordinary arrangement till the induction of the permanent VC which was materialized on Friday through induction of Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan to the office.
